Flying M Ranch

Pilots meeting at the Flying M Ranch OR05 on Sunday (11/29). Breakfast is only served between 8 and 9 so maybe we shoot for 8:30. They also need a head count to know how much food to prepare.
This is an important meeting so try to come, we will be discussing things like how much turkey we ate at Thanksgiving, how many micro's we drank Saturday night at JC, who shows up with the biggest tires and where the next meeting destination will be.
I think we have 7 planes going so far, weather providing.
Call the flying M at 503-662-3222 or myself at 503-550-0511 for a head count.
Hope the weather is good and we see a bunch of BCP people.

STC: I am ready. If the fog is not an issue I will be there. I'll shoot for 0800.

Cheers

I will try to make it, but my departure is calling for fog/low overcast. Keep us posted if the time gets moved to later in the day. [-o<

Re: Flying M Ranch

Looks like the best chance for fog might be south of Salem?

My day is open, if we can't make it to the Flying M I would be into going somewhere else later in the day.

Re: Flying M Ranch

Be very careful going into the "new" Flying M. The strip is NOT as depicted in a link in a previous post. Both Bryce and Barbara are friends of mine. I spoke with Barbara a couple of days ago and she informed me that the current strip is much shorter that the old strip that ran out back to the lodge. Only some unknown feet on the east end are usable. The new owners of the Lodge have placed some type of motor home crossway in the strip to prevent people from using the western portion of the strip. I casually remember seeing a thread and picture of the current strip...... it might have been a YouTube video. Y'all be careful.

I'm a no go. Freezing fog down my way, should be nice when it burns off, um, melts. Have a great time and give us a trip report.

Re: Flying M Ranch

Now I am definitely a little behind the times, but having operated a lodge for several years with a similar length one - way airstrip on the property I question the placement of that box trailer. Obviously they don't want you using the west portion and that's fine. Why not use some traffic cones or something not quite so permanent? Why on earth would you put that thing there on a one - way strip for your customers to run into? Talk about liability...

I must be missing something here. Anyway, hope the weather cooperates and everyone gets there, I wish I was going with ya.

Re: Flying M Ranch

Had a great time at the Flying M. To bad some were grounded with fog. Rob thanks for guiding us in with the handheld, and thanks to owner Bryce for parking at the approach end with his head lights on. I owe both of you a cold one.
