Flying motorcycle by Subaru

Oh hell ya, it's about time. For a former Goldwing rider (amongst other bikes) and a 1300 hr Soob powered plane flier, this would be right up my alley. [-o< I won't hold my breath but it's an interesting design exercise by Daisuke Hirabayashi, Yoshiyuki Matsumoto and Takumi Ishikawa. Say that three times real fast. https://www.avweb.com/aviation-news/sub ... otorcycle/?

The complex, heavy, and dangerous tilt rotor on the Osprey was to go farther and faster with a greater load than the simpler, but certainly not simple, helicopter. And Osprey was the first aircraft specifically designed for Marines so it was going to happen at any cost.

You poor guys had to live with the H-34 in Vietnam. You deserved the Osprey at any cost. Tricky to get into wing not at stall pitch attitude flight.

I only got to see the prototype, i was out of the marines by the time they hit the fleet. However i do have some first hand experience with helicopters breaking having walked away from 3 crashes over the years. What can you say, two types of machines with complicated parts that shouldn't fly. And hey, even the marines deserve a new toy every now and then.

Back to the original program, looks cool, wonder if it will ever make it off the drawing board
