It's been mostly clear, cold and very windy here for a while. 68 knots in Lynn canal the other day. The commercial boys are still flying but my plane is waiting for better conditions.

Ft. Yukon and most of interior Alaska has been chilly for the past week. Makes Kotz look down right balmy.

It should be balmy. It's not winter yet.

'Ya mean like the middle of January. It's plenty cold even in Kotz for me. I'm ready for March sunshine and longer days and we haven't even gotten to December 21st yet.

"Clew" ??? Is that a Metar acronym for clue? Sounds like the sort of thing FAA would do.

I've got a METAR decoder ring, it came in a box of Cracker Jacks. Handy. But I like the "windy" forecast graphic as posted by Gump better than metar.
