i flew with Jim and his pilots for the first few years we lived in Unalakleet until i got my license and started flying myself around Norton Sound. I cannot say i have met a better pilot in my experience. Through all those flights with Jim, and even though i was not getting official "instruction", i learned a lot from Jim about flying an airplane and dealing with the funky regional weather. Jim also made it possible to get me to the surrounding villages during medical emergencies to get patients stabilized and get me back home again, and while you could say that he was making money, he would stop what he was doing to make time to get me there and back, often flying me there himself. The man worked long days, 14+ hours almost every day.
Most of all, Jim was a great guy, he will be missed
