FlyOz AR

Changed oil/filter in Husky yesterday and packing for Wednesday departure. Wife flies Husky and I drive camper with e-mtn bikes and kayak. I typically drive 5-7hrs while Husky takes a couple; no hurry, we're retired. Parking camper at Horseshoe Bend campground on shores of Beaver Lake 5+ miles east of Bentonville. Marcia will land at friends 900' strip on a peninsula (water to water=pretty cool on final) where we'll tie down Husky- literally a mile kayak from our camper or 5 minutes by truck=great set up. FlyOz: very nice strips, some pretty challenging and almost all are beautiful. Not as dynamic as Idaho but prettier AND we can ride our e-mtn bikes as AR boasts the most bike trails in the US-mostly courtesy of the Waltons. We reserved two weeks and will stay another if we're just having too much fun. Did I say I love being retired.

If anybody is in the area from Sept 19 thru Oct 2++ and wanting someone to fly with, let me know. Maybe a couple of 185s will be joining us but it will be last minute with them.
Jack

OBTW; after we get to destinations, I get to do all the fun flying as I've got wife by 90 lbs or so. Old, fat and cripple has it's privileges. :D

Re: FlyOz AR

FlyOz is high on my list, hope to make it towards the end of the year. Really neat idea that they have created. Enjoy!

Re: FlyOz AR

In 1998 I was helping at Jim Younkin's hangar at Springdale and had my 180 there for a little while. Jim was welding up a gas tank for a man that was building a Glastar at Ar91 Circle S Farms. One day we flew my 180 over to measure somethng and I've always thought what a cool airstrip on the lake.
