So true, especially with planes from this era, some with no brakes, no tail wheel, and no steerable skid - hence no way to steer the plane on the ground if you are trying to stop at the same time.
One of the onlookers asked "what year was it built", the answer given (other then the rotary engine) was 2010. Sadly the last real original Fokker Dr.I was destroyed in WWII by the Germans during their London bombing campaign, where it resided in a museum in London. At least that's my understanding.
Hard to imagine dogfighting in planes like this, and without parachutes.
