Re: For Aviators who love motorcycles too...

Since I love motorcycles, and am an Aviator, I will use this as an opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is David, I currently live in Bend Oregon, but have been staying in the lake Chelan Washington area for the summer and doing flight training at S10. I became an A&P in 1995 through South Seattle Community College. Shortly after I became an A&P I was offered an opportunity as a Ducati tech in a very high end dealership in Idaho. I got sucked into the motorcycle world and by 2001 I had my own shop Selling Ducati motorcycles, Husqvarna, and repairing BMW's. We were one of Ducati's best dealers for a number of years until the economy in Bend collapsed and had no hope of recovering (still doesn't) We closed our shop in June of 2010.

I am getting back to aviation now. My plan is to find some A&P work and get my PPL. I am starting into my training full time (3 days a week) starting next week. Once I get some experience I will buy a something small and easy to fly and probably flew the heck out of it until I am ready to move up. My interest is in Backcoutry travel. I have been pretty much everywhere you can get on wheels in the NW, the Oregon and Nevada High Desert, and Northern California. I travel in either my Jeep, or on one of my bikes which include Ducati's, Husqvarna's and Moto Guzzi's.

I don't have much to add to your forum at this point, but will be lurking and enjoying your posts.

David

It seemed that everywhere we went Sunday was about bi-planes and motorcycles:

My two adventure machines. I wish the summers were longer up here.
