Four Corners-Moab Area Flying

Am trying to get a few planes together to do some flying around the Four Corners - Moab areas for the weekend of September 27 and/or October 4.
Have seen Jim Clarks video on some backcountry strips in Utah and have flown the area back in '04..Monument Valley, Painted Desert, Monicello, Moab, Arches etc.
Possibly 3-5 planes out of NE and CO.
I have not heard of any flyins in the area during this time period.
Some may want to camp, others will stay in motels.
I have not checked conditions of any of the backcountry strips since early this spring but will check closer to flying time.
I really want to go back to this area when it gets a little cooler but before winter sets in.
Any interest?

I'd be interested in this kind of fly-in. I haven't been to some of the strips down there but I would love to do it. Keep us posted as it gets closer.

Sounding better all of the time. I will be on vacation next week so will be out of the loop unless I can get on the internet somewhere.
I'm not picky about what dates we do this but if we can get in on a UBCP event so much the better.

Hey,

I'm interested too. I have been working on putting together a few aircraft out of OGD to go down with me to Ibex and camp for a night. I would really like to get down there before winter settles in too...once the temps drop off so it is enjoyable.

I'll keep an eye on this thread.

GSP,

Let me know when you are heading out to Ibex. I have a couple of planes out of Spanish Fork that want to go out there too. It would be fun to go with a group.

If there's room for one more, I'll be back from Europe and would like to join in. Would have to be a maybe at this point though.

Will do. I have to look at my schedule and see when it could work out. End of September might be the time frame...kind of the same time noted above. Maybe around the 25 and 26th or so. I'll keep you posted.

It looks as though some of the folks that were going to fly to the Four Corners-Moab area are falling out. I too may have to change my plans because of family needs. If I can I will try to make the UBCP flyin Oct 3-4.
Plans may always change so I will watch this site and the UBCP site.

I've been trying to figure out when I can get down that way. When I wanted to go just doesn't make sense. Now I see the fly-in down in Huntington over the 3-5 of next month, so I think that might have to do.

I RSVP'd the UBCP site for the flyin at Huntington UT. Will make every effort to make it there...weather permiting. Probably will arrive in the 3rd.

Sorry but I won't be doing any flying...having knee problems. Won't make it to either Creede or Huntington.
