Fraser Farmers Western British Columbia Trip

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Fraser Farmers Western British Columbia Trip

Found a neat little lake that's pretty secluded, almost air only, and it's warm and clear. Took the family for a day of drifting on the lake and wing diving. I should have taken more photos but I was all wet myself and not wanting to drop my camera in the lake.

You know, I hadn't even thought of that, but there you go, this plane can never have VGs.

I'm kicking myself for not taking more pictures. The kiddo sitting on the wing was doing backflips into the water later in the afternoon.

No trips for a bit for me. Pulled the prop and crated it for a trip down to Seattle for overhaul. Dang, that ends up being a huge crate.

Curious if you're taking it to NW Prop or AC Prop?
I always had good luck with AC.
The owner, Mike Worden, passed away a few years ago,
but I heard that his son (or maybe nephew?) is running the shop now.

Had a prop done at Northwest a few years back. I think they have been bought by MHD-Rockland, don't know if Dick Jacobs is still around. His hanger kept the local taxidermist in business with all the mounted big game trophy's.

I've sent it to AC Prop, seems to still be a Mom and Pop type operation. Northwest was sold to a bigger shop and the quote they gave me was almost twice what AC was quoting. Lots of buddies have done well with AC so I figured I'd go that route.

Re: Fraser Farmers Western British Columbia Trip

Last Sunday I took John and Evelyn for a day in the mountains. We landed on Thomas Lake and had a bit of a swim. The kids inflated their paddle boards and I grabbed the floatplane association canoe and we went for a paddle around the lake. As a bonus there were plentiful mountain blueberries on the shore so we gorged ourselves on those as well. When we were done we flew down to meet the rest of the family for an evening of waterskiing. Not a bad little Sunday.
