Backcountry Tested, Pilot Approved: Introducing Airframes Alaska’s Newest PA-18 Fuselage
February 29, 2016

Chugiak, Alaska - Airframes Alaska is proud to introduce the Ultimate Alaskan PA-18 Bush Fuselage, the fifth airframe in the company’s stock lineup and the first design to come standard with the most-requested mods by Alaskan bush pilots. To celebrate the new addition, customers who order a new Ultimate Alaskan fuselage by May 31, 2016, receive a free set of 31” Bushwheels (a $3580 value).

For years the sales staff and fabricators at Airframes Alaska have coordinated with and constructed PA-18 fuselages for bush pilots who live and work in the backcountry, hauling hunters to remote valleys, mountaineers to otherwise unreachable peaks, and tourists on unparalleled flightseeing trips. “The thousands of hours we’ve spent piecing together fuselages for local bush pilots has given us first-hand knowledge that no other PA-18 airframe fabricator in the industry can offer,” says Israel Payton, Airframes Alaska outside salesman and bush pilot. “We know exactly what components a plane needs for functionality and safety in the bush, and those components are exactly what we put into the Ultimate Alaskan PA-18 Bush Fuselage.”

Along with functional modifications like the top deck X and boxed tail built into every Airframes Alaska fuselage, the 103-pound Ultimate Alaskan features 12 modifications that offer weight savings, increased safety, functionality, and/or baggage space. “Practicality is key. These mods are useful to everyone from weekend flyers to 135 operators,” Payton says.

Specific benefits of the Ultimate Alaskan PA-18 Bush Fuselage include:

- Largest internal load space in the industry
- Expanded baggage access to get at that extra load space
- Safer structural restraint points for pilots and passengers
- Enlarged viewing area ideal for fish and game spotting

A full list of mods as well as ordering information (and how to get that free set of 31” Bushwheels) is available at www.airframesalaska.com under the “PA-18 Fuselages” tab.

Airframes Alaska LLC is an aviation fabrication and FAA/PMA certified parts manufacturer of fuselages, landing gear, lift struts, tailwheels, wheels and brakes, and more parts that support bush flying in Alaska and around the world. Looks like a well thought out airframe and a great deal with free tires! Contemplating one for my cub with old bones.
