I'm still waiting for that rebate check from the Christmas special. Don't get me wrong, I'd have bought it anyway, but they should make good on the old program before starting a new one.

My check took about 4 months last year after I sent in the rebate.

I'll stick with my Medifix 406 PLB. I can count on it to work everywhere in Alaska, not just from about McGrath eastward.

Seems like every few months SPOT gives these things away. I have one and use it when I fly but in all actuality the yearly subsricption fees are excessive for the amount of use I use it. For the cost of the fees I think a guy could get an ACR or something similar. The option I like though on the SPOT is the tracking. I will say it is a nice feature to apease the wife but sometimes it is delayed.

The Good Lord does not deduct those days from our alloted quota, spent fishing, flying or with our Grandchildren.......
The special lasts to Aug 3rd, I am veeery tempted. It would give me coverage while boating as well as when I am flying at work and when flying my own Maule
I will have been concerned because I work north of the Arctic Circle and some times fly there also and have heard some negative reports on coverage this far north.
