FS: Cessna 170B **SOLD**

Well the time has come to sell my 170. It's a great plane and I wish I didn't have to sell it! I spent a lot of time and money getting it set up just the way I want for the backcountry. I'm posting it for sale here first because I would like to see a BCP member get the plane.

1953 Cessna 170B:
- TTAF 4637
- SMOH 1389 C-145-2
- McCauley 1A175DM8042 seaplane prop 769 TTSN
- Sportsman STOL kit
- 26" Alaskan Bushwheels
- 199-62 Cleveland double puck brakes and wheels
- Scott 3200 tailwheel
- Spin on oil filter
- KY97A com radio
- KT76A transponder
- 2 place intercom
- AirGizmos Garmin 496 mount (hard wired)
- EZ Flap handle
- Rosen sun visors

The following was completed in September of 2014:
- Stripped and painted in original 1953 paint scheme
- Stripped interior, painted gray, installed Selkirk 1/4" closed cell foam
- Selkirk extended baggage
- Selkirk flap tunnel
- Replaced all 4 seat rails with McFarlane rails, and new seat rollers
- Leather seats front and rear
- Front seat frames powder coated
- F.A. Dodge folding rear jumpseats
- Windshield and side windows replaced (light tint)
- New seatbelts front and rear (fixed harness in front)
- Light weight VFR panel with iPad Mini panel mount
- Panel powder coated
- Yokes powder coated

- New exhaust in November 2015

Empty Weight: 1341lbs on Bushwheels and all seats installed, 1293lbs on 8.00x6 tires and rear seats removed. Gross weight 2200lbs.

Extras:
- McCauley 1A170DM7655 cruise prop 52 SPOH
- AKBW baby bushwheel tailwheel assembly (needs rebuilt)
- Cowling and cabin covers

Damage history: The airplane wasn't wrecked but I did have to get some gearbox work done due to landing in some rough spots and hitting a couple big rocks. I had to replace both outboard landing gear brackets. Brand new Pponk brackets were installed. I also had some skin replaced on the bottom right side of the cabin due to a small wrinkle just aft of the right gear leg.

Asking $49,000 OBO

PM me if you're interested.

Re: FS: Cessna 170B

The 170B is a popular plane in Alaska and few examples here are as nice as what you are offering. With the addition of skis and/or floats, your 170B would be an awesome aircraft in Alaska for that guy that can't quite afford to own or operate a 180.

Re: FS: Cessna 170B **SOLD**

Well the 170 has been sold. It went to a nice guy named Matt who lives in Maine. I helped him fly it cross country (literally) from California to Portland Maine last week. We had some good luck and great weather and made the trip in 21.5 hours over 2 days. He joined the forum here so hopefully he will keep us up to date on his adventures in Charley.

Rob

Congrats: Good looking workmanship.

I inadvertently managed to enlarge your panel photo and kept trying to read the
N# as the one I owned. Turns out they were 9 #s different with the 5&6 reversed.

Curious - Which is the Master Switch?

It is better to be late in this world, than early in the next.

Re: FS: Cessna 170B **SOLD**

Thanks, Chris. The master switch is the first one right of the ignition switch in the middle row.
