Fuel Bladder Replacement Cost on 182

Hey guys just trying to get a ballpark on Fuel Bladder replacement cost for a Cessna 182. I know it will vary from location to location, just trying to get some cost estimates as I'm looking at purchasing an older Cessna 182 and want to be able to compare that cost for planes that have and have not replaced the bladders.

Re: Fuel Bladder Replacement Cost on 182

The biggest variable cost of replacement will most likely be labor, so you may get a quote from whomever you would eventually use to do this task. I replaced mine recently at $900ish apiece for the bladders.

If your handy and have an A&P that will sign off your work, you can do much or all of the labor yourself. I removed and installed both my bladders in my 180 all by myself....it wasn't easy but can be done. Be prepared for lots of arm bruising, head scratching and swearing #-o

So at minimum, you're looking a $2000 for the parts, and whatever other issues you may find while taking parts off an old airplane!! I had to replace a check valve and an inlet screen costing anther $400. Then I added the monarch caps for another $700

Last set I did on 2/22/2013.
Charged the customer $2820.00. That included fuel selector inspection and governor adjustment.
The cells themselves were invoiced to me at $1820.00 from Aero-Tech

These were also the standard tanks and not the long range.

Slight drift here, but can you change from standard to long range when you replace the bladders?
