Have as much Fun as is Safe, and Keep SMILIN! GT,
Whatever you do, don't get them around bears....
Were they ever certified, or are you talking experimental?? There was a set in FAI on an experimental. Never seemed to perform well, but that may not have anything to do with the floats.
Keep them away from bears. Helicopter guys who've worked floats on helicopters in the far north will second that one.

Last summer at the BC Floatplane Association's annual meeting at Nimpo Lake, BC, I saw an ultralight on Lotus floats. This guy's landing approach was aimed right at the cabin where several of us were having cocktails and we were wondering"WTF" and started getting ready to run for it. He touched down, cut the engine and glided the tips up on the grassy bank. We were sitting there with our mouths open when this gray haired old guy and this very nice looking young gal got out. We decided he knew what he was doing even if we didn't.
Turned out he was Charlie Russell, the guy who raised grizzly cubs on the Kamchatka Penninsula of Russia for many years. Extremely interesting guy and a good guy. He flew that plane all over the area in Russia and it is pretty impressive for what it is.
Despite his experience with bears, I agree with MTV that an interested bear could cause significant damage.

What are you putting them on G? Are you interested because they're light and cheap(er)? There is another brand that specializes in LSA/ultralight floats called PuddleJumper, which are injection molded HDPE if I remember correctly.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
I have no experience with them but I did see this video of a Kitfox on Full Lotus.
And here's what happens when you let the codensation get out of hand.

There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity

I'm contemplating putting them on a Glastar. They make a lot of since to me as you don't have to worry about putting any dents in them. There was a fellow at Birchwood about 20 years ago had a set on a modified pacer and he just used the grass infield to land when he was there!! The video's are great. The only down side that I have heard about is air pressure
in the float from cold to hot or back??
Thanks all
