Luscomb Sedan Model 11A ALMOST bought one a few years back . They are noted for some bad habits !!! Had a 185 HP continental engine when first certified. Been told they are hard to do a full stall landing in ! Wheel landing recomended. Not real fast [120 + MPH and burn 12 + GPH. Been some relics for sale on Barnstormers recently ! John

BINGO!!!
It does not like the 3-pointer, but wheel lands very nicely. This one has a climb prop on it and was cruising at 120 with no trouble. With a cruise prop I would think she will run in the 130 range. This one is imaculate and for sale. I think the owner is asking $45k. The cabin is cavernous...much more room than the Maule...I was surprised that I could sit very comfortably in the rear seat...I am 6'3" and 295.

Wow, only 4 still flying? They only made about 65 or so to begin with. Real shame. Luscombe was way ahead of it's time with that one.
I understand there was an attempt to bring them back in the mid to late 90's or maybe early 2000's. Too bad it didn't pan out.

That is what the owners told us...they know of only 4 actively flying. There may be other's that are flyable sitting in a forgotten hangar someplace.

There is one of those flying over on Vancouver Island. It has the 225hp with a Hartzell constant speed with HUGE wide cord blades. I have seen it at a number of local flyins and the take off performance of the plane is spectactular but i have no idea what the cruise speed is. The plane was for sale but i forget the price and it was not as pretty as the plane in the pictures.
