I have found that strong drink sometimes softens mattresses and quiets roons. There are better room deals, but how about pilot gatherings. If the weather looks ok, I will cancel my reservation in a heartbeat and throw the camp in 14WL. If the weather works, camping ain't half bad.

Does Stovepipe Wells sound like a better meeting place to you guys? It seems like there are rooms close by and camping too. It would be nice to have everyone at the same location.

Long range forecast is showing a series of fronts arriving Northern Ca. Thursday bringing rain/snow to the region through Sunday. It doesn't look good for us up north but we'll have to see what goes on about Wednesday or so. Don't forget 48 hour cancellation at Furnace Creek.

I realize that what I'm about to write puts me in the running for lame a$$ of the year, but I have to back out of the flyin this weekend. I have to evict a renter, and it's going down on Saturday. Believe me, I'd rather be flying.
Sorry

Well if the weather goes to shit, nobody will be going, and I'll be happily skiing in the freshness.

Everyone make sure to check the forecast and cancel your reservations within the time limit if it looks like a no-go. Winter is a sketchy time of year to plann fly-ins anyway, so as long as no one loses money, it's just a matter of planning another one.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Jeff,

You have to do what you have to do. Maybe you'll be able to blame the weather anyway. If not, toss the deadbeat out and head on over in the afternoon. I promise to save you a beer.

Thanks Mark, I'll probably spend the whole weekend trying to get my rental clean, so I can get someone else in. Again, I'm so sorry

WX

The strong front moving through Oregon has caused me to scub the trip to DV today. Maybe next month?
