Garmin 430 WAAS Help

Ok, I'm stumped on this one.

On the AUX page for density alt/TAS and winds.

After I enter all the variables the DA and TAS work fine.

The problem is I never get any wind info. The direction and speed always read 000 at 0. What am I doing wrong. I have read read the Pilot's Guide & Reference I feel I am doing what the book says, but obviously not.

Help please....Rob

Rob,

This is a known bug. Have your avionics shop upgrade to the latest software, which corrects this and also a very serious problem that can result in incorrect guidance when using a SID/STAR.

All sorts of fun! I visited family and went to the Alaska Airmen's Association show in Anchorage back in May... didn't get to do any flying there, didn't win the Cub, but had a great visit. August, drove around Bavaria with a friend (an air traffic controller) in a rented BMW, drank a massive amount of hefeweizen and played a lot of Scrabble.

Couple of trips in the Maule, nothing big... just got back from an overnight pig roast hosted by some friends on land they have maybe half a mile from the airport in Jasper, Tennessee, near Chattanooga... fly-in camping southern style!

How about you? Your BCP fly/camp/shoot trip looked like a blast... getting some good use out of the M7?
