Garmin Virb Ultra 30 - How's the battery life ?

Looking at the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 for mounting on the wing strut of our C-172. How is battery life, especially in colder weather ? Probably film mostly at 1080p due to file size of the 4k.

Any likes or dislikes of this camera would be appreciated. I think I read that Image Stabilization doesn't work in 4k mode.

I get about 2 hours or more in 1080 made, 4K mode is less but I don't use it much because the file size is huge. Image stabilization does not work in 4K mode, and 4K mode is "wide field of view" only. 1080 mode has digital zoom. Overall I have no complaints about mine. I mount it under the wing, and I use it for video pointed straight ahead, or point it down about 30-45 degrees and set it to take one still photo every 2 seconds.

Thank you Dale for your reply. 2 hrs. in 1080 is very respectable battery life, is that while using the phone App. to control the camera or just turning on the camera and letting it run ?

What ambient temperature are you getting the 2 hrs run time ?

Thank you.

2 hours is turning it on before engine start and letting it run, using the remote in flight didn't work to well with my setup because the remote must have constant Bluetooth comm with the camera or it stops recording, so I had to keep the remote up by the window all the time, strange problem I didn't expect when I bought it. temps were usually summer, so at altitude probably 70's or so.
