Wow, that cost almost as much as a new Garmin 530. But it weighs more. They call that perceived value but the only thing inside the Garmin is smoke.

Gear question: plane camping vs. backpacking

Would be a lot cheaper to bring a bunch of totes, a cooler, folding chairs, folding table etc for a couple hundred bucks. Give you at least a start on affording the Swiss army girl.

I noticed the second post said you could bring beer. Well funny story. At Sun-n-fun a decade or so back we took the 185 and camped. Nothing elaborate, just a dome tent and a couple of bags and pads. Well the mother of all Florida thunderstorms blew through and nailed the whole area. Most of the camping area was now a lake. So we trudged back in our instant rain ponchos (trash bags with head & arm holes) to the Skywagon. As we walked down the devastated rows of tents and aircraft we get to the 185 and our airplane & tent is magically, still firmly anchored to the ground. While there was about 4" of water, the tent stayed dry inside (like a reverse kiddie pool).

The poor sods next to us had their tent shredded and their clothes and belongings scattered in the water. But they had beer! They had already consumed a considerable amount, judging by the number of silver cans bobbing in the water under their plane. Well the liberal use of beer in this manner made their 182 a perfectly comfortable camper, to sleep in sitting up.
