I got the alternator installed and want to provide some tips for the next guy who finds this thread.
I cut off the old bracket that’s on the too-long-to-remove bolt that is below the engine pulley. I used a cutoff wheel after placing welding blankets over everything. Both new brackets go to a different bolt - the one above the pulley.
Plane Power had a batch of bad brackets so mine did not fit. They sent me a new one. I did have to put the bushing in reverse from drawing to get everything to line up.
Bus voltage is rock solid on 1.8 hour test flight at all rpm’s. It’s really amazing compared to the old generator and voltage reg.
Overall, the installation is not perfect, time will tell if it starts throwing belts. Instructions could be better as well.
