I would say she definitely would qualify for BCAH. And if she qualifies for your avatar why would she need approval from Admin>>>>>

As much as I enjoy some of the characters in your club, it's grown to be a symbol of division among a greater collection of people who are gathering to talk about flying. It's founded in political polarization and exclusivity, which frankly I'm sick and tired of, and I'm not going to promote it. I didn't change your post, it's a site-wide filter. No offense to you personally.

Ah Ha! So that is why the site was down all day on Monday. It took all that time to hunt down and destroy all the wicked AHs. :P

What happens if you use a hyphen like this. BC-AH. Do not take it so seriously.

Sorry Z, I am still a bit mischievous at 63

Ok you're on probation! :P I guess I'll allow it, given your ingenuity.

You should all at least be happy that no profanity is filtered. Just remember that Tim's grandkids may be reading.

RE: Politics

I concur. When teaching high school I used to hold up a thin dime to represent the differences among our two major political parties... name any issue and either side will have senators and representives voting for or against. It is sad that some feel the need to constantly reassure themselves, and each other, about their convictions.

As I see it BC-AH doesn't have all that much to do with politics. It started with a bunch of guys having beers under a wing. Or maybe before that and I entered the fray at JC under the wing. It's good fellowship and a lot of good old fashioned , what my father used to call "Kibitzing" . There were and are still a lot of laughs at each others expense, and a lot of flying and aircraft talk. I had one of my best days in Idaho on a four wheeler with John, and not one word of dissent and politics was heard the whole day. THere wasn't any at the campfire either till "Someone" came up and started espousing the greatness of Burning Man...You can filter out profanity and I have never used any here as I am as sensitive to younger ears as the rest of us who are of an older Generation...(62) . THat's why I used just the letters of BC-AH which are certainly not profane in any way. THis censorship is new to the site and I can only see it as an "in your face" flip off as it wasn't here when I joined the site. All this crap has come about since the AK tahoe incident which was caused by some turd here on the site who works for the FAA and feels it his duty to rat out another pilot.

Even the avatar thread got morphed into politics? What's it gonna take to just get over what happened? I'm not staying we should stick or heads in the sand about life, but I don't want one persons actions to negatively impact the "mob", and from where I sit, that's what has happened.
One of the things my Father tried to teach me was to not "wallow in the mud with the pigs". In other words, don't argue with a lawyer for instance. The lawyer loves it and you get so ticked off you do something stupid.
Collectively we are wallowing in the mud with the pigs by not letting this just die. Forget it and move on.

we have moved on. But censorship is a direct result of that incident. I merely made the point that that incident was the beginning of much dissent here that wasn't here before. BC-AH didn't come about because of it BC"ah was formed way before that and was even promoted by Zane. I believe there was even a link to it at one time. So you see how this has digressed. THat's my last word on it. :x

Ha! Butch, it's a credit to your character that you see it that way. As for the FAA employee, I've had private communications with certain parties that have proven it wasn't BM, so my original decision regarding that business turned out to be the right one.

Actually I think the whole Aktahoe1 business has had many positive side effects, and the site will be better off in the long run for it.

not...

Iceman:

My intent was to reenforce Zane in that this is a forum about flying to back country airports and such, not a political one. I was not addressing any other issue.

I will say that when I walked up to John's fire, a gentleman seated there asked me about Burning Man. He was a stranger to me and how he knew to ask me, I don't know. Responding to him seemed to be the polite thing to do. When John objected, we removed ourselves promptly.

However I would scarcely consider the festival a political issue, quite the opposite; and since there is a rather large back country fly-in there, it does seem to me to be an appropriate topic. I am truly sad to read that the event causes so much discord to some of the BCP posters.

Yeah let's let this stuff drop. I'll even end the thread with a fitting photo. Now, the difference between this and Bob's avatar is that they're wearing clothes. I'm really not this prude, but we have to respect Tim's grandkids.

Thanks Aktahoe1 for the pic. I like to call this photo "Jet A"

I always thought this had to do with "back"country?

I guess my definition of exploring the backcountry is different... sigh.
