I don't think anything can get any better than that.

Terry, Francis is the old gentleman's name in my video. He was a pilot in his younger days. He told me, he flew a Piper tri-pacer. He had suffered a severe stroke that left his right side paralyzed. He was in a care facility in a wheelchair. When asked what one thing he would like to do, if he had the opportunity, he said take on more airplane ride. I flew from S49 to TTD a flight of about 300 miles to give a stranger his request. You might wonder how I knew about his request. A mutual friend had dropped my name. I flew him down to Cascade locks CZK where we made a landing. I let Francis fly all he could including doing most of the landing, I of course did the flaps, and other panel controls. Our landing at CZK is here:

That was simply great. Like you said about what the Good Book says, it's better to give than receive. I bet that day was something that gentleman's will cherish. Although, I imagine you enjoyed giving him that day more than most would ever realize.... :D

Francis Hoopes, my passenger that day, died 6 months after we took this flight. He showed everyone, that visited him in the nursing home, that would look, this video. This is one of the most memorable flights I have taken in my 28 years of flying. He asked that they show this video at his funeral, and they did.

skybobb that was way cool. By the time I got my plane my uncle who took me for my 1st plane ride had passed. My dad was to sick and a double leg amputee and he never got to go. But I now have great memories of my mom and her brother flying with me.

I love sharing the gift of flight with other too. Again that made me feel good watching.

Cheers...Rob

I was lucky on that note Rob, as I got to take my mom and dad up for a flight before they passed. I was flying my Cessna 170 at the time. I didn't have very many hours in my log at that time. I was going to take my dad on a cross country to Arkansas, but he passed away before we got that flight in.
