Goodyear 26 tire pressure??

Just put a set of Goodyear "26"s on the Pacer and was interested in what tire pressure others are running.

Re: Goodyear 26 tire pressure??

I like to put some Scotch 130C splicing tape on the mating surface(my anti slip technique), where the tire contacts the wheel, and then I would run 10#s for that plane when landing on rougher spots and 15-18#s the rest of the time. And a little paint on the tire, and right next to that spot on the wheel to see if there has been any movement.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Re: Goodyear 26 tire pressure??

I run 12-14 on M-5 235 Maule.
8-10 on PA-12.
Inspection paint on wheel/tire to watch for creep on preflight.

Re: Goodyear 26 tire pressure??

Not sure if this helps but I run 16-18 lbs on a 2001 Husky A1B when operating off asphalt. Have done so for several years and seems to have very little wear issues with about 125 hrs a year.

Re: Goodyear 26 tire pressure??

Seems like some people have related that the 26" GY are so stiff that lower pressures dont do too much to soften the ride.

Re: Goodyear 26 tire pressure??

I was told 20 for my PA12. Between that and the AOSS, I need an air ride seat for some of the dips when taxiing on our runway.

Re: Goodyear 26 tire pressure??

You can feel the tire get softer in the 8-12 psi range but 8 psi is as low as I would go with my Pacer fearing wheel slip. 16-18 psi works fine and has a little less grab on tar. Drop that PA 12 down to 10 psi you will like it.

Re: Goodyear 26 tire pressure??

Nowadays I don't like any lower than 10 psi on the Cub and normally run 14. Been there, got the t-shirt res wheel slippage with them... :? #-o
