Looks like they consider $2K to be "really really low cost". Personally I don't wanna spend over a grand, if that. Hopefully as the deadline approaches and more time & effort has been spent developing ADS-B out boxes, prices will get down to a reasonable level.
I'm still hoping that the mandate will change to ADS-B out required in class A & B airspace only, but then again I'm a dreamer.
