GoPro Hero 3

We just received a bunch of the new Hero 3's for my business. It seems like it is a great new camera from GoPro.

The remote is working flawlessly and there is a new App I am trying to download now that shows up on your smart phone.

Anyone else have one of these yet?

GoPro Hero 3

Sounds like you need to upgrade your software in your phone, not get a new phone. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and get a newer version of IOS.

You are correct! Doing that now...

Standing by...if this works (so I can see what I am recording on my phone and have it as a remote) I will be one happy fella...

Raining and snowing hard outside...a good day to spend inside I guess

Re: GoPro Hero 3

The go Pro web site says the App does not work with the new camera until they release new software on DEC 14.

Of course they posted that after I ordered the new black edition. I should have mine Monday

I tried to shoot some in plane action today, found out when I got home there was no memory card in the stupid thing. Fugg!

GoPro Hero 3

I haven't researched it yet, but... I don't like the fish eye lense at all. Is there an alternative? ContourRoam has my eye for just this reason.

Re: GoPro Hero 3

Hope this doesn't hijack the thread but I was shoppng for POV and it looked like GoPro was the best...then I saw the JVC Adixxion, the Sony POV, etc. Does anyone know if these new to the market POV's are as good as GoPro?

Re: GoPro Hero 3

I bought the Drift 170. I had done a project with the Contour, but it was lacking in a bunch of areas. Drift is great and I am really happy. Going to order one more.

Have no experience with the new GoPro, but several of my colleagues are using these for broadcast. At this point, they are all pretty damn good...

I added a vid page with C170 films to the Skywagon blog if you want to check out how the Drift 170 looks. http://skywagoneast.com/c170-videos/

I guess I will just have to wait until they come out with the Drift 180 before I can use it on the Skywagon.

Re: GoPro Hero 3

I just shot some video and pics with my go pro 3 from the strut, it really works well and the remote is a nice addition.

What settings do you guys like for the best view ? I shot at 1440 48fps with the ultra wide.

Re: GoPro Hero 3

Here are a couple frame grabs from video I shot with my Hero 3's on my first training flight last weekend. The video is really nice! On was mounted on the strut and one on suction cup inside.

Re: GoPro Hero 3

I downloaded the app and software update for the hero3 black edition. It works.

Isn't it weird you get suprised when this tech stuff works as advertised. Anyhow the report is in the app functions, and I am using a iphone 5, which is not listed as compatible yet.
