Got in a Quicky----UPDATE

Saw a girl at the county fair this week that grew up arround the corner from me. I have known her since 1980 when she was about four. Makes her about 34 now. She has been battling cancer for the last five years. She is putting up a great fight.

We started talking and she said that she heard from her dad that I had an airlane at my place. I offered her a ride and she jumped at it. She showed up at 7 this morning and off we went.

She had a good time

I really had a good time

Tim..... Good for you to share flying with her. I hope she beats the dreaded C.

I guess it is suggestive but..... Why did she have her eyes closed ???? #-o #-o

She was at the controls at the time and she just copied me. #-o #-o

Her folks were really appreciative. I think I had the most fun. She always has a smile. Now and then we need to be put in our place.

My field approved fold down camera holding device. It is a piece of aluminum with 1/4 -20 tapping with misc Ram Mounts. Works slick. A gypsey approved it.

Re: Got in a Quicky

Good job.

I saw that zeppelin at KRDD on Friday night when I got home. Wondered what that was about. Busy on the downwind for 16 and didn't see the Farmers logo. Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: Got in a Quicky

That's great, Tim. Nice work.

Flew right over your house today (I think.) I flew about 4 mi east of Montague and circled trying to find you place among those farm plots but couldn't locate it positively. I was going to show you my round tail nice and close up.

Tim, I love it, great job, you made her day, week, month , year. You really don't know how much that meant to her. This what we all should do for others. Thanks.

Her dad and mom told me how much she enjoyeded it. I could not imagine her enjoying it more than me. Kind of gets to me. She has two little kids and I am 65. I truly would trade with her.

UPDATE
Just got a call from my good friend Dick Solus. Keri, his daughter died about an hour and a half ago. Cancer is a very patient killer. Out living your kids would just suck.

Re: Got in a Quicky----UPDATE

Man that just gives me the willies. I had not seen this thread until today, and thought it was new and thought how cool. THen realized it was an update.

I just can't fathom it.

I also just can't believe how many people in our lives it seems are hit with cancer.

Thanks for sharing Tim, as much as it just effing sucks.

Re: Got in a Quicky----UPDATE

Reading that just takes the wind out of my sails. My youngest daughter is the same age, and I couldn't imagine the heartache. Well, I can, she's a former Marine and for the 18 months she spent in Iraq I didn't sleep. But knowing and dreading this day for five years... Oh man.
