Great Alaska Floatplane Camping Website

A gentleman who has spent years flying up to Alaska to camp in the public cabins has put together a great website with all the details. Anyone who has ever considered going, or even hasn't, should check it out.

What an awesome resource! Is anyone aware of any sites/lists like this dedicated to cabins in AK with accessibility via runway/strip?

There are very few cabins on public lands in AK that are accessible via wheelplane.

Lots and lots of landing “sites” available for tent camping, though.

There are a handful of really awesome public use cabins in the Wrangells that are accessible by wheel plane.

FWIW....

It is my understanding that the Seaplane Pilot's Association has taken over management of the "seaplane cabins in Alaska" website and plan to update it as they get input from members / pilots. They are asking for pilots who visit these cabins to email them with updated information and photos.
