Seems like there's something about ice....There's always gotta be someone who just HAS to try it early, with this result, and someone who has to be the LAST, with similar results.

I've been close to being the last once, but never the first.....

Re: Guess this guy can't wait

ok...so i'm trying to be in this guys's shoes... you go full power, hit the water, first thought is;
1-lets get out of here safe...hurry up
2-I cant believe this is happening,...I'm blaming it on a jam tail wheel
3-lets get the hell out and run and let someone else figure out this mess
4-get out, run, call the cops to report your bird stolen

For those who don't want to replicate this, here is a good read:

http://www.crrel.usace.army.mil/ierd/ic ... afety.html

For 2000 lbs, you should have a MINIMUM of 4" clear, snow free ice for a rolling load. That can be scratched through with a pocket knife. I like to add about 10-20% to allow for thin spots, bouncing, and snow load. The easiest way to measure ice thickness is to mark out the bar on a chainsaw. Make a vertical dive cut until water comes out. Just remember to keep the chain spinning for a few minutes after it gets wet.

I have been waiting but have not yet seen an explanation for how this guy ended up in the water. Anybody?

Just gonna take a shot in the dark on this one... The jackwagon fell through the ice, thus ending up in the water :mrgreen:
