Hang In There All

Hang in there all....Winter in the west is upon us for the now. It will break. Till that day, stand fast and be assured that we will once again sail upon the high.

Put in other words…

Gawd Damn…I wish this weather would give me a break so that I could go flyin :x

The weather in Northwestern Washington has been fabulous for the last couple days. I took my son flying in the foothills east of Bellingham yesterday and then went down to Everett to check on our airport car there today. Both days had just high overcast and an occasional sprinkle. Not too much wind at the surface, either. We've had two record highs (around 60 degrees) in the last week and the pattern looks like it will continue for at least another week. Not our normal January weather, that's for sure.

True story, wet, warm and low visibility. There was a short cold break that gave up some great sunrise trips but they seem awhile back.
I had the fortune to buy a plane that has its annual at the end of this month. I tear into it and the weather gets really nice. Figures. So far, this will be a relatively painless one. A little muffler fix, new valve cover gaskets and the general removal of the last 120 hours of Mung from the underbelly. My IA has to find something, so we now have new battery cables in addition to the other items. Wouldn't want him to go away thinking he might have missed something would we? Yea, if I had to pick a time for this, I can't bitch too loud. Beats August...
Looking at the photos posted, looks like someone else had a good time at Johnson Creek this last year. That you John? That was a fun time.

Test flew our C170B yesterday for the first time she has flown since 1976! 74 degrees south wind at 15MPH. Only a 50 minute flight, but have been working on her for 3 1/2 yrs, since we bought her. Super nice day down here in south Texas, but am looking forward to some extended trips up north. Enjoy looking at the photo gallery guys, keep those cool pictires coming. Jon

Good for you! Any plane that gets back in the air and out of the hanger is good for all of us. The fact that the little wheel is in the right place is icing on the cake! Your efforts are applauded. Keep us up on the progress. Pics too. John, I see a road (sic) trip in your future but to cement the invitation, Chantel is going to have to come too! That came from Chelle by the way!

That is awesome Jon. Maybe take some pics and make yourself a user gallery so we can see that beautiful craft.
