Has anyone seen Bub? (Skylane)

Wondering if anyone knows how Bub (Skylane) is doing or where he's at these days. He was posting here a lot until he announced the onset of a debilitating disease (ALS) and I havent heard from his since.

I talked with him on the phone about his experience with Sheble's IFR rating school and he was hery humble and helpful. He talked of selling his Skylane and possibly buying a Ridgerunner of some sort. He made a pass thru Utah but we were unable to hook-up. Hope he is well-

Anyone have any info??

Thanks to all for the info. I received some PM reply's stating that Bub is alive and well, however he is unable to fly the Ridgerunner anymore. Hope he stops by here for an update to all.

Re: Has anyone seen Bub? (Skylane)

Hey, I'm still hanging around. Just got back from JC 8) this morning and 52 Romeo said I was being asked about. :P I'll make a trip report forthcoming.

I'm still walking, however have lost my abilty to speak, not that I had a lot to say anyway. In a nut shell the ALS is kicking my ass. :x I have marked weakness in both arms and hands. Fine motor movement sucks, have to wear slip on shoes because I can't tie shoe strings. Have gone from 252 pounds to 209, something I needed to do, but not this way. :?

Did fly the Ridge Runner II a few times, hooked some sagebrush in a crosswind landing and messed up the left gear leg, got it all fixed. Have a tough time getting into the little bugger now, so I'll be selling it. I'll put a FS post with info a pics.

Rob stopped by the other day and we had a good visit, oh yeah! I have a voice generating computer, I type, it speaks. Makes for a slow conversation.

Family did a road trip first of last month. Jackson Hole, Grand Teatons, Yellowstone, Helena, Custer National monument, Devils Tower, Sturgis, Rapid City, Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Rawlins Wyoming, ( high school buddy), The Lagoon in Farmington. Golden spike site then home. Fun, but glad to get home. Talking of another trip. Grand Canyon, Zion, Arches, all the area I can see down there in a week. Most likley BOI to LAS via SWA. HEY, never wait until you're CTD to do this stuff. #-o Get out and go.

C ya, Bub

Hey Bub, there is this application for the iPhone/iPod Touch called "Speak It!" that is a great voice synthesizer. It really has high quality speech synthesis, and you can store preset phrases. I bought for my iPhone just to goof on people, but it might be really useful for you.

Good to hear from you, looking forward to your JC report.

Hey Bub,

Sorry to hear the ALS has progressed as much as it has but sure glad to hear you're taking life by the horns and getting out there and enjoying it.

Hey Ernie,
Buddy I'm working on it. Did you fly over to a wedding Saturday? Neighbor said he saw a Cherokee 180 just like yours at the airport. I told John, "No it couldn't have been Ernie, He would have stopped by"

When our PC crashed last month I lost all my bookmarked sites, and dang if I could remember what photo hosting site I used. But figured that out finally. So should get a trip report in this week.

That's why I use X Marks with Firefox. All your bookmarks are automatically updated and backed up away from your PC. And if you want all your computers to have exactly the same bookmarks this program will do it for you.

Bob, where were you hiding on Sunday at Owyhee? I saw your plane parked there but didn't see anyone. I didn't walk down to the Hilton or around much (didn't see anyone around when I flew over). I dropped in around 4-5ish for a 15 minute break.
