Haulin in Supplies for the Annual BCP Fly In

As of today, I'm planning on attending the Annual BCP Fly In at Johnson Creek, June 25-27.

This year, I'd like to volunteer and try to help out logistically as much as I'm capable of doing. What I have in mind so far, is loading my pickup with the following items to help this event to be a big success! If anybody has any "REASONABLE" suggestions  , Please don't hesitate to chime in. (and with this crowd, I'm sure there will be lot's of interesting items to be suggested   ) The reason why I came up with this idea, is to help lighten the load for many pilots and there planes. If you think I'm going over board, let me know as well.

Below is a list of items to start off with:
1. 1 10x15 EzUp Canopy
2. 1 back yard grill with a couple of extra propane bottles
3. 2 or 3 large coolers
4. Some pots, pans, cooking utensils
5. Folding chairs (24 or more??) (if I can round up a trailer)
6. Folding tables (if I can round up a trailer)
7. Metal Stakes for extra tie downs and rope.
8.

The other thing I'm starting to think about is purchased items. I have no problem going to Sams Club, Costco, and the Grocery Store to purchase additional items. But if that's what the majority of BCPers would like me to do, we may have to set up a fund for additional purchased items. I'm willing to pitch in up to $100.00 myself. Here's a list of purchased items I'm thinking so far.

1. Drinking water and cooking water
2. Plates, bowls, utinsels, napkins, paper towels
3. Soda, BEER :D
4. Food (we can discuss what to buy later [month before the event])
5.
6.
7.

If the list grows too big for it all to fit in my pickup, I'm confident I can round up a trailer to haul in the additional items that won't fit in the back of the pickup. I'd like to have the truck loaded by June 22-23. I can drive it to JC on the 23-24 and I'm sure I can get someone to fly me to Caldwell so I can return to JC with my plane.

I know to some this is starting to sound like a big task, but for those that don't know about me, I operate and run a racing hospitality vehicle for a major motorcycle company and I'm more than capable of feeding from 10-500 people with the right equipment and staff. So helping out a group of about 20-50 people should be fairly simple. But again, If you think I'm going over board, over the top, getting crazy, just let me know.

Just a small disclaimer:
During the race season (schedule is March thru Sept), my schedule can, at times be very demanding. As of today, I have every intent to be at and play a roll in this event (Annual BCP Fly In, June 25-27). As of today (and I have my most updated schedule in hand), I do plan to be off work and at home in Idaho from June 19 through July 11. However, there can be a slight change in my schedule that may take me away from this event. If that happens, I'll still do everything in my power to help out as much as I can. My company usually makes any changes in our schedule 2 or more months in advance, so that should be plenty of time to make any adjustments in our planning for this event at JC.

This next year at JC, I'm looking forward to meeting more of you in person. If everything goes well, this should be one of the best BCP Fly Ins ever!! One not to miss!!

As to your disclaimer:
I also work in racing (unfortunately for a bit longer), and I fully understand not knowing when or how long you will be in or out of town.

You guys have a good time, that's an order. :D

'58, a generous offer.

Ummmm, Rob, aren't the friends ACTUALLY the SC.org Johnson Crick "awards team" photoshopped in? 'cause it doesn't look like Dave Kirsten though.....

Re: Haulin in Supplies for the Annual BCP Fly In

That's a very gracious offer!

If I was going to be there to abuse your hospitality, I'd be begging for you to haul in some fuel! Every time I've been in that area, I had to cut my flying short because...
I was low on fuel because...
I left McCall with half tanks because...
I had too much crap!

I really don't have a way to help out with fuel at the moment. And I'm not sure if that would even be possible unless I can get a good size tank to help every one out that would want fuel. Not a bad idea, though. For future reference, Cascade ( http://airnav.com/airport/U70 )is usually cheaper on fuel and just as easy to get in and out of. Arnold Aviation has a courtesy car as well.

Cascade to JC: About 35 nm (34 nm, straight line)
McCall to JC: About 30 nm (If you fly through the canyons) (26 nm, straight line)

There's usually mogas in Yeller Pine, but need your own containers.

That's something I'll look into! I'm sure I can gather up some containers to bring along.

I'll fly up to JC the week before the Super Cub fly in and investigate the availability of mogas in Yeller Pine...

I got a solution.
Since I use Yamaha snowmobile steering boots and clutch cover plugs on my experimental and because of my posting of the parts on the internet, which resulted in alot of sales and having hundreds looking at them at Osh and being future Yamaha customers it only makes sense that Yahama cater and provide a hospitality area at JC.. [-o<

OK. I will stop drinking now and get back to reality. But the idea looked good on paper. :^o

Rob, you beat me to that comment. Very gracious offer 58. That would make for one serious fly-in. I'd be happy to help out as well. Just wish it wasn't 6 months away.

Not a problem at all!!

I've been thinking the last couple of days. Will this be a potluck dinner one of the nights? Or has that not been determined yet?

But, like mentioned to start off with, I'm more than willing to haul in the heavier bulky items like bottled drinking water, cooking water, soda, etc. I know most of you have your favorite chairs, but I'm sure I can round up a dozen or two chairs to haul in, too.

Unless I can round up a sturdy enclosed trailer, I may start to think about staying away from perishable food. Especially meat (don't want them bears getting in that stuff when the pick up is parked out by the gate overnight).

I'll keep taking notes from everybody's post's and when April/May approaches, I'm sure we can start to come up with a real firm plan.

And any help would be greatly appreciated!!

So, why drive a pickup truck to JC?? Why not drive that 182 in there? Heck, all five of those ladies won't fit in a pickup cab either.....
