Have You Seen This Airplane? (If so, what can you tell us?)

I saw a pic of this plane on Barnstormers in an ad for aircraft painting. (I stole a screengrab) I think it was in Minnesota. BRD, what say you? You probably have some photos on your hard drive of it somewhere.....

Image

It looks like a Champ/Super Cub hybrid. Pretty sweet lookin.

My $00.02

Opinion...

The empennage is ACA design or facsimile. Looks like a Scout tail.

Is that one of those kit planes from Idaho or Montana that use a GCBC fuselage and a super cub wing? Or is it vice-versa? I can't remember the name. It's somewhere on here.

Looks like an Epic 3000. Made by BBI in Ontario. They build a fuselage based on the Scout, put cabane gear and super cub wings on it.
That's my $0.02 FWIW.

Yep I remember now. Thanks David.

I like the paint job on that one.

Has anyone flown one of these things? I'd like to wring one out. That AOA though.....

Re: Have You Seen This Airplane? (If so, what can you tell

I agree. That paint job looks great Evan!
Also agree about wanting to wring one out. A scout already had such good performance that it's hard to imagine better. The SC wings would really slow down the top end, so for me it have to make a big difference on landing to pay off.
Spoke with the builder and they are great guys. Same guy that built the Smith cubs. Says guys really like the room of the ACA cabin.
You should build one and let us all take turns on it! Ha.

Re: Have You Seen This Airplane? (If so, what can you tell

@Zzz,
Sorry I never saw this - just ran across it now.

I'm actually looking into importing the Hornet, Hornet Cub and later the Bushman or a version of it. Been working on the plan but still lots to do before it happens. Can't wait all the same.
