HD Fork on 172K

I have a 172K and digging in over this weekend, see that my serial number qualifies for the "optional" HD nose fork 0543062-202. My POH lists both a 5.00x5 and 6.00x6 for the Nose wheel but mains are only 6.00x6. As I understand, I should be able to install the HD fork (assuming I can track one down) with my IA as a minor. I assume then I would be limited to 6.00x6 on the front without an additional field approval. I would like to run 8.00x6 on the mains, which I could pursue with the Tundra Tire worksheet and field approval? Just increasing the nose to a 6.00 will be counterproductive if I can't run bigger mains.

Just curious if anyone has been down this path recently or has any experience with it. I looked at the Airglass fork/STC but it is probably more than I need if the HD fork option will suffice. Anything I am missing?
