It's an extremely quiet headset and quite comfortable with its adjustable clamping pressure. I think if you're looking at a Zulu it's worth trying the Telex before plunking down your $800.
I can add that I also have a Bose X and, in my experience, the Telex is quieter, has a slightly quieter yet clearer-sounding mic, is slightly heavier and definitely more bulky. The Bose is lighter, slimmer but not nearly as quiet as the Telex in the same airplanes (PA-28, C172S, C182T.) They have similar clamping pressures. The Telex can be adjusted to clamp more tightly, but it's still completely comfy. The Bose is also more sensitive to my sunglasses breaking the earcup seal, which really hurts the ANR performance. The Telex has thicker earcup cushions and thus doesn't suffer this problem.
