Heading to Chicken Strip
A general forum for anything related to flying the backcountry. Please check first if your new topic fits better into a more specific forum before posting.
Hi guys, planning a trip to Chicken Strip later this week. I went there a couple months ago for the first htime and had fun. I'm looking for some other spots nearby to land at if anyone has suggestions. I have a fairly capable bush plane with 8.50s. If anyone wants to meet up at Kernville or elsewhere it would be fun to meet some fellow backcountry flyers.

The plan is to get there Thursday around mid day and spend the night.

Had a fun trip. Camped one night and had the springs mostly to ourselves; no old driftwood floating around: ) Weather was perfect. Landed at Big Pine on the way out, and Kernville for lunch. Chicken Strip is still in great shape. I would still love to hook up with some other pilots who could show me some neat spots to land. I'm based in Paso Robles. Plane is a Murphy Rebel.

Hey coastflyer
I'm just up the highway from you in king city. If your out buzzin around tomorrow stop by and say hi. I'll be working on my Cessna 140 puttin the engine back on, otherwise I'd be out flying for sure. My hangar is on the north end facing the runway if you happen by.
Otherwise once I get flying again we can meet up sometime

I was thinking about flying tomorrow actually. I'll definitely stop by if I do.
