Helicopter Run on Landing - VIDEO Today
It takes strength and fortitude to beat the air into submission.
Today’s topic - The “Helicopter Run on Landing” : used to mitigate underpowered landings. Either DA is too high or there is/are mechanical issue(s) that would prevent an approach to hover landing.
I’m pretty stoked because I could safely land with only about 15” of MP! Wind was 12-16 Knots, relative heading 02 o’clock. So I was pretty much in ETL at touchdown which was almost gliding with 15” MP. Slide was under 10’.

Very nice! As we slow down and tail boom streamlining deminishes, we have to get a bit more gross with dynamic proactive anti-torque pedals.
