Sorry to hear that. I get so disappointed when good people aren't allowed in. I've always had trouble getting back in when going on fun trips. Never had trouble going into the States. Shame you didn't get to see our beautiful country.

That really seems like overkill but on the other hand I wish our country tightened up a bit on the borders. Isn't it weird how our society seems to be harder on DUIs than many other more heinous crimes.

Sorry about the crossing problem.
Idaho is great though, don't know about sturgeon there. Good here in delta if follow the DFG/DFW rules.
What POE did you use, Porthill?

Porthill (Eckhart International) was my selected crossing point. Seemed like a great place to clear customs both ways.

After booking the fishing trip to BC (been twice before - once hunting and once fishing) I thought it kinda funny I was flying over Colorado and Idaho fishing.

The highlight of the trip for me by far was the mountain flying training I took prior to meeting my nephews in Caldwell.

My Final Exam

Without a backup plan in place, and having lost a day of fishing, it seemed the easiest to go back into the Idaho backcountry and teach my nephews how to fly fish, which is exactly what I did. We stayed at Flying B Ranch and fished the Salmon River. Not spectacular fishing, we each caught/released about 10 fish a day, mostly cutbows, but my nephews did learn to fly fish and seemed to enjoy themselves.

And Idaho is beautiful country with great people.
