T-41 from a club I'd have to assume if the photo is of the "AF" plane.

The T-41 at the Travis Aero Club is down for an overhaul. And the Beal Aero Club doesn't have T-41s. Besides that I don't think someone would pay the rental and fuel to fly circles over the city for hours on end. And if the mystery plane really is a T-38 (a jet) the news did a crappy job reporting and made it look like a piston engine Cessna in the segment I saw on the news last night.

Here is a link with a video of the news report. It shows the flight pattern it was flying and has pictures at the bottom of the page of the "mystery plane". They are clearly not all the same airplane...

Looks like something on the left side of the plane in the pics, behind the pilot door. Which makes sense with only left orbits. Someone doing something!

Law enforcement is watching something. It's not that unusual.

There was a Cessna 337 doing the same thing over my area a couple summers ago.

Just getting everyone ready to accept the much smaller drones that won't be so annoying, then it will be OK.

I used to wonder about the Cessna 150's circling over my house almost every night too. Then I went along as safety pilot for a friend that was working on his IFR rating. Seems I live under the middle of the local holding pattern. #-o
