Here's a thought for you

I typically pay around $2200/yr for my ins. $95K hull, $1M/occurance, $100,000/passenger. I notified my broker last month that I didn't have the money to renew the insurance.

Just got an email from them today. They have been shopping for a better rate for me. I did not know they were doing this.

Rates came in from $1764-2043. pretty significant savings. A couple companies haven't got back to them yet. I haven't checked to see how the companies are rated or how they feel about dirtstrips and off airport landings, but, they do want to sell ya somethin.

FWIW

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Gary, have you checked with Bill White Insurance? He does a lot of 180/185s for the 180/185 club and owns and flys a 185.

Of course mine is experimental but I got the recommendation right here on BCP, checked it out and could not beat them. Good off or on airport, all of North America.

Hi Ron
I did talk to him a couple years ago. I am with Northwest now and have been happy with them, just runnin out of fun tickets. Gotta cut back on somethin.
Thanks Gary

It also steadies the hands unless you overdo it.

I am going to kill the hull coverage also this year. Being in Alaska, the carrier will send me a thank you letter instead of offering me a discount to keep it. 8)
