Hidden Splendor: Damaged and not usable

Earlier today we received a report that the Hidden Splendor Airstrip has been damaged and is not usable. A UBCP board member will visit the airstrip tomorrow to find out more about the damage and its extent. We will update this information as we find out more. Until then we suggest not attempting to land on the Hidden Splendor Airstrip.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

If you want to damage an airstrip, just ask Chicago :D

Re: Hidden Splendor: Damaged and not usable

a few years back I think it was Cabin creek that was deliberately damaged by either packers or environmentalists by diverting rain and runoff water onto the strip thereby causing deep drainage ruts and erosion damage... another way was experienced by Rob and Joe Dory yesterday with bolders on Salmon Bar...

Cluster bombs and cratering charges can do a number on a runway too.

I was trying to hold back on the bombs comment... glad to see someone else go to it first.

What I find very amazingly interesting and very disturbing about these so-called eco-freaks is that it seems fine for them (the eco-freaks) to damage, destroy and/or harm what other normal people have the right and privilege to enjoy. But, the second one of us normal people unknowingly, accidentally and/or unintentionually harms mother earth, all hell breaks loose with these eco-freaks!

Am I missing something here? How did we make the leap to eco-terrorism? I'm no fan of the eco-nazis, but it seems premature to blame them. Could just as easily be some hunters on atvs, dirtbikers or kids in 4x4s. A herd of deer or elk can ruin a strip in a matter of minutes if it is wet enough.
