High Gross Kit - What is this?

I've heard and seen references to "high gross kits" on certain aircraft. I've been looking to buy an Maule M-4 or M-5 float plane and they appear to have max gross weights of 2300 lbs. Is there such a thing as adding high gross kits to these to up the max weights to 2500 lbs? If there is, can anyone tell me the details? What does the kit include? How much $$?

thanks

There is a up-gross kit for the M-5. Flight manual supplement #5 Not sure about the M-4. I think you take off the wings and add a rib. Call Brian at Maule parts or check the Maule forum. I believe you get an up-gross when you put floats on a Maule, and the kit adds 200lbs to that as well.
