Re: Honda Super Cub

I ride a Honda, too - 1998 Valkyrie.

6 into 6 open pipes and a super comfortable riding position/suspension. Also don’t get my teeth rattled by a rough engine. Also apparently made 100/100 at the wheel when stock.

Definitely not a Harley, as I’ve been reminded a couple of times.

Re: Honda Super Cub

One of these days I’m going to get my old 1964 Honda 90 Sport out of storage and restore it to riding again... Does all of about 50 flat out but with a smile on my face that does not go away...

Re: Honda Super Cub

The positive connection between flying and driving anything without a surrounding cage has been demonstrated. Do a search and note the positive results from studies done in Japan and elsewhere. It maintains and improves both cognitive health and muscle function while adding sound and other senses to the experience.

Riding is a three dimensional event like flying. We forget the road most days in an ordinary vehicle. In a plane or on a bike it's what's around us that is real and we can interact while somewhat ignoring what we're in or on.

For a better explanation of motorcycles: https://www.dailybreak.com/break/robert ... fe-lessons It's a challenging read and he had personal issues off and on during his life. If curious read the book and note the approaches to "maintenance" and "quality" by the main character and his alter ego. We see that often in the aircraft world.

The fun and utility of little bikes is underrated. We resurrected this 1979 dead basket case over the winter, now starts first kick and runs like a top. Honda “postie” bike.

My wife and I have had a lot of motorcycles in our lives, and we just don't talk about the Harley years, short as they were. Worst machines we ever owned.

I’ve never been able to afford that much for a motorcycle. Glad I didn’t miss out on anything, haha

Honda Super Cub

The Elsinore 50 was my favorite Honda

——

189 HP at the rear wheel

103 lbs lighter than when it left the showroom 15 years ago

It breathes out of proper carburetors and has a steel chassis with twin shocks...and I routinely pass $40k+ Ducati’s with ease on the street and track. [emoji41]

Built not bought

This is my airport get around bike when it’s off duty

Image

Sometimes I hop on the 70 HP 300 lb smoker for fun too. It’s fun serving up a bunch of humble pie to folks that only know how to go fast on the straights.

Image

Image

This 600cc wonder and I have been tearing it up for 20 years and 92k miles now. It holds its own still very well on the street and track. It was the first production motorcycle engine to achieve 200 HP per liter of displacement.

Holding a paintbrush doesn’t make you an artist. Motorcycling is one hobby where you can’t fake it. The men are easily separated from the boys.

I posted this as an April Fools joke and it has morphed into a dick wagging thread. What the hell is wrong with you people?!

Some dicks don't get noticed unless they are wagged. Smell is a forgotten sense. And all motorcycles are welcome. Hah...great fun!

You guys are funny! [emoji23]

Haters gonna hate. [emoji16]

Don’t be jealous, or just stick to what you’re good at.

Or better yet, learn how to do something new for a change.

There’s hope for you. I started on a Honda Elsinore 50.

Honda Super Cub

I have some pretty funny Honda jokes but reluctant to share in case some of you go crying in your Cheerios.

If you’re actually going to buy a Super Cub, you might want to consider the new Monkey 125. It’s far less embarrassing.

Re: Honda Super Cub

About 45 miles north of Howe Idaho, just south of Summit Creek Pass, and a couple miles west of Sawmill Canyon, there is a concrete outhouse just off the road. A nice one, it's there I guess to serve the 3 or 4 what seem to be unofficial campsites along the creek that are fairly close by. This is an extremely funky setup, not some big time Forest Service campground where you sign in etc., all the more reason the concrete crapper is surprising to see. When you go in there and sit down, right in your field of vision is a bronze plaque (maybe it's on the outside, been a while since I've needed to go when in the area) that says DONATED BY HONDA MOTOR COMPANY. That's it, no explanation why them, why there, why an outhouse, but as a long time Honda buff, one who had a Honda Super 90 in the '60's (just bought a new Rancher ATV for the place) seeing that plaque gave me a warm fuzzy feeling, good on Honda.

Re: Honda Super Cub

There's a couple on Monkeys at the local dealer. One's available in Banana Yellow for the adventurous and young at heart.

https://powersports.honda.com/2019/monkey.aspx

The prices on older Honda CT 70 pit/dirt bikes have grown so maybe they're worth something.
