Hood River Fly-In September 5th-7th 2014

The Hood River Fly-In is coming up in a few weeks!
For those that have not been to Hood River, it's a great town with good food, great Beer!
There was a good turnout of airplanes last year. September is great time of year for flying the Columbia River Gorge. The strong summer winds are settling down and the temperatures are usually just right.

I'll bring my plane over on the evening of the 5th for pilots night. How about a BCP meet up for drinks and food Saturday night?

This is from the Western Antique Airplane and Automobile website, the museum that hosts the fly-in

http://www.waaamuseum.org/events/fly-in ... lot-s-page

September 5th, Friday night is Pilot Night!

Planned activities for those who fly-in on Friday.

Spaghetti feed, fire pit, trivia and more.
Camp under your wing this weekend.
Bring your plane! We love to see what you fly!
Aircraft Parking:

WAAAM is on the North side of the airfield.
Aircraft parking is on the grass next to the museum.
(Transient parking on the apron is extremely limited.)
Please bring your own tie downs.
Ground handlers will direct you to parking.
Be prepared to shut down and push into parking.
Special parking for clubs can be arranged in advance only. Contact Ken Olsson at [email protected] or Judy Newman at [email protected] or call (541) 308-1600.
Registration:

Registration is inside the gate at the Southeast corner of the main museum building.
Aircraft registration of $5.00 includes admission to the museum on all three days.
Please bring your own tie downs.
Lodging and Accommodations:

Camp under your wings.
Showers are available.
Please bring your own tie downs.
Scheduled shuttle van between WAAAM and hotels is provided.
There are plenty of places to stay in Hood River and nearby, but lodging fills up quickly, so don’t delay in making reservations.
Fuel:

Fuel truck by sign-up: Sign-up at the Classic Wings tent outside the museum hangar.
Self-serve fuel is also available at Classic Wings on the South ramp.
Airport Information:

Runway construction has been planned and may begin before the fly-in. Construction should not interfere with the fly-in but be sure to check NOTAMs.

I've got a similar plan. Wash the airplane mid day. Might go fly around in the Deschutes river canyon a bit. Then head to the fly-in. mid afternoon.
