Done.
Anyone who’s a member of the IAA should’ve gotten an email about this.
Here’s a previous thread on the topic. Sounds like a great place.

Pretty cool that this project is moving again. That area is a cool place to explore.
Some things I’ve been thinking about:
Do we (the general public) want another airstrip on the fringe of wilderness. Airstrips in ID seems to attract a lot of people and it’s incredibly annoying to hear the constant buzz of airplanes while doing just about anything other than flying. I can’t decided if the shortness of length and higher elevation would deter or attract airplanes to this location. Currently is a nice spot that is infrequently visited. Easier access could ruin yet another spot.
The runway used to be 2100ft long and at 8200msl. That is probably too short for many planes to visit with camping gear. If you can’t get in to camp then will it just be another mile-high type place? We don’t need another one of those.
What caused the Forest Service to finally give on this strip? I know there were other strips in the region that have been proposed. Is it possible the FS looked at them and thought, ‘Let’s give them Hoodoo. What else would we do with 2100ft of decomposed granite in a location almost no one goes to.’ If we only get one is Hoodoo the one we want?
