It's spam, I should delete it. But I also kinda enjoy bagging on FB.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Here’s how to fix all your Facebook problems

My version of “social media” is going to a concert or bar or going riding with friends and meeting new people…in real life

Lots of folks are like “I use facebook to keep in contact with friends”

If you wouldn’t keep in contact with them without facebooking, they ain’t real friends

Re: How Do I Contact Facebook Support

Unfortunately, many of the ways we kept in touch before FB just don’t exist anymore. For instance, my local EAA chapter has a FB page, where there used to be a monthly newsletter that came in the mail.

While we’re bashing tech, I’d LOVE to dump my smartphone!

Smartphone is like the Spider-Man thing, with great power comes responsibility lol

I love my iPhone, I just don’t like or do Facebook or google or the ticktock

But for flight, having foreflight in my pocket with full weather W&B every manual for my plane, every chart and even custom layers, just give me more time to enjoy flying and less time on the ground messing with W&B or trying to get the info I actually need from a briefer, plus the situational awareness it’s one of the best and cheapest add ons us pilots have

For float plane ops I have navionics, full marine charts and crowd sourced info too from anyone running a sounder

I got a Wi-Fi battery sounder, there’s a post about it on here somewhere

I took my canoe out to a river I wasn’t too sure about as no one landed there and there weren’t many boats bigger than a kayak on it, suction cupped the sounder on, linked to my phone, paddled alway with a 6 pack and a friend and the sounder painting away, made a full bathymetric chart of the river, which made picking my line for landing my 185 much easier and safer

Would like to hear more about this.
I'm pretty oblivious about marine ops/charting, yet I have an amphib.
I don't know what a sounder is.

With that said, is there an app and an external Bluetooth device to "map" out depths of an area of a body of water?

Thanks

For sure!

Here’s the app

Also will show you nearest marinas with gas if you can run mogas

The hardware (little different than the one I have, probably just newer and smaller)

This one has got at least one float plane I know of
