How do I get the iPad to power off with the master switch?

Any one figured out how to power the iPad off when you kill the master? Garmin Pilot continues to run in sleep mode, and eats the battery up. When I remember to manually shut down the iPad, not sleep, but a complete power off, it will start up when i flip the master. Ive done a bunch of searches, like "power iPad off with external power"....

Re: iPad Mini power off and on with external power

Thanks, but I am trying to figure out how to have the iPad turn off when i turn off the master switch, like the rest of the avionics, so i don't have to press the button and slide the thing to turn off. It will turn on when i turn on the master, but not off. Im sure someone has the fix for this.

Just have to remember to power it down when done.
All Ipads and Iphones come on when plugged into a charger. They can of course be shut down after plugging in..

Thanks, but I want the iPad to turn off with the master, so I don't HAVE to remember to turn it off at the iPad itself. I've read about the fix for this but I'm not sure where.

Re: How do I get the iPad to power off with the master switc

Would be nice.. My iPad Air isn't easy to remove from the Flypad mount...looking. There is a way. General-accessibility-assistive touch....enable. That'll put a button on the display. Touch the button. Select the device icon, touch and hold the lock rotation icon, that'll bring up the power off slide bar.

If your iPad is jail broken, or you can jailbreak it, download "activator" in cydia and it should do the trick.

Save your battery
One of the most useful actions in Activator is the ‘Battery Drains’ option which allows you to indicate what action the device should take when the battery goes below a specific level.

Thanks for the tip! That's the only thing that's bugged me me about my iPad mount.

Maybe there is an App you can download which does that?

How do I get the iPad to power off with the master switch?

All iOS apps allow you to toggle whether they run in the background or not. In Settings scroll down to Garmin Pilot and turn of Background App Refresh. Then exit the app when you're done. I've done this with several apps that update their data in the background and suck power by using the radio. If the app isn't constantly doing network stuff while the ipad is sleeping, your battery should last a long time, unless we're talking like days/weeks of inactivity.

Low power mode in iOS 9 is similar to what that jailbroken Activator/Save your battery feature provides. It sounds like Activator is a neat product though if you're willing to jailbreak.

Last jailbreak of mine, they just added some more time onto my sentence.
I don't recommend it.
