How I stopped the rain

Had a lot of rain all morning here in Ohio today. I got home from grocery store and decided to wash the Maule. I pushed it out in the rain and with raincoat and long handle brush and bucket of rain water. Started at the tail on left side and got around to the cowl, and the rain stopped. Only half of the plane washed!! Got more water and quickly brushed off the rest of the dust while still wet. Had hoped to get a little more rinse time from the rain, but turned out pretty good afterall.

If you got the rain and wind from that system that went through, after we did last night, (west of you) there would have been no need for the brush if you had left the plane out. I imagine Mongo can attest to that. Steve

Gene how much would we have to pay you to come to Oregon and wash your plane 4 days a week from sun up to sun down?
Good day

Gene,
I am sure you are a great guy but please don't visit Arizona:)
Pretty much the land of blowing dust this time of year.

All;
Right now we would like to loan some of our water to those much dryer than we are. 5 inches of rain so far this month and have standing water all over and some roads closed near Indian Lake. We were fortunate last night as the storm devided before it got to Logan County. Severe storms and damage both north and south of us. 3/4 inch rain and strong winds.
I was able to get into my field for a little while on Friday. Worked up the ground next to my airstrip, the dead furrows and some of the gullies washed out in the field. Rain started Friday evening. Will be at least 10 days before any more field work here.
Now as I said on the water, it is just a loan and return will be due during the month of August.

Planted corn last Wednesday and Thursday. After the down pour last night and this cold ground, it will take a rotary hoe when ever it dries up. Lost part of a door and machine shed roof to wind last night also. Spring in the midwest. Steve

Western Ohio turned dry last summer and have been listed on the drought monitor all winter. Moderate snows during winter and pretty dry spring thaw. Now with the heavy April and March rains, we are shown as excess moisture on the soil moisture monitor.
Back in the mid 90's we were so dry here June and early July that the grass crackled under foot. I flew to Minnesota for our camping trip where there was ample moisture. Told my friends there I would lasso a cloud and bring it back home. Worked well, but dragged back too big of a cloud. Got home on July 5 and next day it started raining and had 13 inches of rain by the end of July. Have to be careful what you wish for.
Good luck for rain In Plano.
