HSF 2025

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

HSF 2025

I couldn't resist going again.

Left home in difficult weather, but got better fast. Image

Customs at Bellingham (chill) and saw a nice Waco. Really classy build.Image

Lunch in Twisp, nice little hippy town. Dooley RIP.

Then Cavanaugh bay, spent two nights and flew out with friends to Magee and another private strip. Nice area.ImageImage

Had intended to head in to Johnson Creek but convective build up got my attention. Had to go west of the Stenes, and then landed at Denio. Restaurant closed on Mondays so headed out to Bog Hog hotsprings. Landed just ahead of a small cell and got soaked pounding in stakes for it to pass and the sun to come out again.Image

Three nights in Tahoe, then out to the playa on Fri at noonish. Stilll a bit damp but only improved from then. Flew out to Blackrock on Sat, too wet to land at Gerlach, or the Burning man site, but found a spot on a small playa behind the Black Rock.

Two easy days home with great weather. Awesome loaner car at Altus CA. Image
The town of Prineville is downhill from the airport. A long way downhill which is fun on a bike, but not so much getting back to the airport.

All in all a fun trip, wx challenging at times. HSF was great, much smaller and everyone really wanted to be there.

Re: HSF 2025

Seems like “a little damp” would be perfect, am I right? Keeps dust down and not muddy. Very nice looking 170! Thanks for the trip report.
