Hudson Memorial Fly-In Talkeetna AK May 16-17 2015 !!!

we are gearing up for the 6th annual hudson memorial fly-in in talkeetna on May 16-17. The event celebrates aviation in the historic community of talkeetna, ak; home of the denali glacier flying businesses. you are welcome to camp at the airport with your airplane. show up friday night for a good parking spot. this year we will have a fly out geocaching event, a local geocaching for kids, poker run, awards for unique aircraft, (all with great prizes from our gracious sponsors) , a pancake breakfast, vendor booths, an evening bonfire, and guest speaker paul claus doing a seminar on backcountry communications. check out our facebook page for a full list of events and times:

i should also mention that prizes for the poker run, aerial geocaching, and airplane contest include $250 and $500 fuel cards, GPS, northern companion heaters, gift certificates from aviation vendors and local businesses, and much more !

Hope I don't jinx it, but I'm planning on attending. Have the family all packed up and ready to come down tomorrow (Friday) night.

the weather is looking great for the fly in this weekend. we already have a couple of airplanes here and its only noon on friday.
dont forget the poker run on your way to TKA. you get one card for your airport of departure, one for arriving here, and up to three more for airports you stop at along the way. just snap a digital photo and bring them to the event booth to get your cards.

YES!!!!!!! weather was beautiful for the flight down and some glacier viewing. Winds variable at 18 gusting to 28 was interesting, but benign when I came in. Burger and beer at the west rib. Enjoying this event immensely already.
