Sounds like Red Flag or something similar. Almost all of the military guys I fly with have been part of it at some point in their careers.

Naw, it was some guy from DOD who read the "see and avoid" thread here on BCP, and turned off TCAS and ADS-B just to see what would happen if people actually had to look outside their airplanes to fly!
